Join us for a deep dive into the Environmental Education Association of Illinois’ comprehensive environmental literacy document EL4IL. In this session the participants will:

• learn the seven tenets of environmental literacy
• learn basic definitions of justice, equity, diversity, inclusion and accessibility (JEDIA) and how those relate to and impact access to environmental literacy and education
• learn about several resources and services that they can utilize to increase environmental literacy and access to environmental education within their facilities

​This session will help environmental educators of all kinds learn more about environmental literacy and to get familiar with the EL4IL document as a tool for increasing equity in environmental education. Educators will leave the session with a deeper understanding of the work to be done and will be armed with more tools to accomplish that work. In order to do this, the session will include powerpoint lectures, group collaboration, and individual reflection. The session will include one 10-minute break and will otherwise require sitting for long periods of time.
